Some banks will give you a credit card without doing a credit check if you have been a current customer for at least 6 - 12 months and have a good history with them. I use a Virgin Card for my cash advances (max $50 fee even for $20k+) then do a balance transfer to AMEX for a 6 month intro rate of 6.99%.
