If you don't want to be bothered with destroying these offers so they don't fall into the wrong hands then opt out. I have a paper shredder and can safely get rid of these. Opting out now will not hurt you when your ready to be responsible for a card, you can apply then.
References :
If you want to opt out, just call them @ 1 888 567 8688. You can always apply for a credit card later.
References :
it would be wise to Opt out, because it decreases the chance of identity thief. you can always just browse and get the credit card you want online. no need for offers because its not always the best you can get.
References :
The opt out option only works for 5-years.

This will remove your name from the national mailing list for 5-years and then it will go back on. By that time you will be out of school.

You might want to go ahead and get 1 or 2 credit cards first and then opt out. Just use them for everyday things never exceed 30% of your credit limit in any given month and pay in full before the due date.

If you do this, when you get out of school and want to finance something you will have a killer credit score.
References :
Finance Manager for over 7-years.

No never opt out. Opting out just allows the company to sell your name to other companies and you will get even more requests.

It is just thier way to see if you are really getting these requests. They will never stop sending them.

Just throw them away if you arent interested.
References :
Believe me many people have different opinions about credit cards but if you get a credit card trust me it will DESTROY your credit badly and you will be in a bad situation for years to come.
Please take my advice, IF YOU CAN'T PAY CASH THEN DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!
My opinion
References :
I got into some credit cards that said the same to me and it screwed my credit up and it's taking a long time to even try to straighten it out.

No, not completely but I suggest that you are very selective. You can review the interest rates and notice if they are variable or fixed. Sometimes it is best to keep a credit card until the "12 months no interest" (r whatever the promo may be) expires and then call and cancell it. This eliviates addt'l ad uneeded spending. Also, Keep your limitlow and pay the card off as soon as you make a purchase. This will all help! =)
